The narrative focus of Blue Rift  isn’t about making the player feel that the protagonist “triumphed by resisting assimilation” or “was defeated by the overwhelming pressure of his environment.” Instead, it’s about guiding players to reflect on the complexity of the struggle between personal resilience and external pressures. Even if someone manages to stay true to themselves, can their inner conflict ever truly be understood?
